Young(er) Episcopalians

Recently it has become clear that we have a good number of young(er) people either here at St. Stephen’s or exploring our congregation who are interested in spending time together socially and discussing different issues that are specific to being young(er). It is also a great opportunity to explore the fascinating world of the Episcopal Church and Anglican spirituality.

As a result, Fr. Jamie started up a Young(er) Episcopalians group at St. Stephen’s. Fr. Jamie started a similar group years ago when he served at Gethsemane Cathedral in Fargo, and it was a great success.

Young(er) Episcopalians are:

+ people in their 20s and 30s (give or take a few years on those limits).

+ not necessarily “official” Episcopalians nor regular church attendees, just young(er) people interested in the Episcopal Church and its ministries, or just spiritual matters in general.

+ married, committed or single, straight or gay, parents or not, shy or outgoing, students or hard-working professionals.

+ non-judgmental about where a person is on their personal or spiritual journey. It doesn’t matter if you’re a doubter or a firmly committed Christian. All young(er) seekers are welcome.

We  get together with Fr. Jamie once a month or so,  at a local pub or drinking establishment for some informal, laid-back discussions and, most importantly, time together. And of course there will always be the opportunity to “stump Fr. Jamie”.

If you are interested or you know someone who is, please let Fr. Jamie know.
